Plating

Plating defines the metallic appearance of custom medals, and different platings cater to various needs—choosing the right one is key to getting your desired look.

For a timeless, vintage vibe, antique platings are ideal. We offer four antique finishes: antique gold, antique silver, antique brass, and antique copper.
If you want your medals to shine brightly and catch the eye, opt for shiny platings. Our shiny options include shiny gold, shiny silver, shiny brass, shiny copper, and black nickel.
To make specific parts of your personalized medals stand out, two-tone plating is a great choice. This dual-plating technique delivers sharp, distinct contrasts.
Not a fan of plating? Dyeing is another excellent alternative. Black dye is a popular go-to, while other hues like purple and pink are also available.

Textures

Coin texture refers to surface treatments applied to specific coin areas, creating raised/recessed patterns (like crosshatching or spots). Shiny metal surfaces (from polished raw materials and thick plating) often glare excessively (mirror-like), but textures and antique finishes reduce this brightness.

Why coin texture works:

It diffuses light to soften glare, makes text/logos/relief details stand out, adds depth to plain backgrounds, and textured backs prevent scratches during transit.

Best of all: Textures are integrated into molds (for both 2D/3D designs) at no extra cost. Custom textures are also available—just share your ideas with our team.

Loop of Medals

Medal loops come with different characteristics, and choosing the right one is key to enhancing your custom medals.

Loop A: An oval loop that gives medals a rounded, slightly “cute” look. It uses rings to attach the ribbon.
Loop B: A pyramid-shaped loop that adds a three-dimensional effect to your customized medals. It typically uses rings as a fixed lever.
Loop C: A rectangle loop that connects directly to the ribbon without rings—simple and practical. It’s ideal for heavier medals to maintain balance.

Custom Ribbons

Nylon Ribbon: A high-quality option, slightly higher in price but suitable for long-term preservation.
Dye-sublimated Ribbon: Smooth in texture with vibrant, unrestricted design possibilities, though it has limited breathability.
